Basket of Many Things is a free New Zealand Magic: The Gathering price optimiser. Paste a decklist and it finds the cheapest way to buy every card across NZ stores, with the total cost including shipping.
The problem it solves
Buying each card wherever it is individually cheapest feels right, but it usually costs more. Spreading a deck across eight stores to save a few cents per card means paying eight lots of postage. The cheapest total is a different calculation, and doing it by hand across dozens of New Zealand stores is not realistic.
The four steps
- Paste your list. Plain text, or a link or export from Moxfield, Archidekt, MTG Arena or MTGO. You can mix deck links and loose cards, or look up a single card.
- We resolve and price it. Every card is matched, then priced live against stock at New Zealand stores.
- We optimise the total. We solve for the lowest total delivered price including each store's shipping, and balance it against the fewest checkouts so you are not buying from ten stores to save a dollar.
- You check out. Follow cart links that bulk-add every card at each store. Pin a printing, set a minimum condition, or exclude a store, and the basket re-solves.

Does it include shipping in the price?
Yes. Every basket is priced on the total cost including each store's shipping, not just the per-card sticker prices. That is the whole point: per-card cheapest and total cheapest are usually different answers.
